Remington MB-200 Titanium Mustache and Beard Trimmer review

The Remington MB-200 titanium mustache and beard trimmer is an easy to clean set of trimmers, with a variable zoom wheel that enables nine cut length levels.

It has a self lubricating system that means that you’ll never need to oil this unit ever, and it also allows the blades to give a really close and clean cut. The blades are coated with titanium which provides a nearly perfect cut with no hair getting pulled whatsoever.

Remington has always been viewed as one of the most iconic brands when it comes to trimmers, and this unit’s interesting set of features makes it one of the most interesting models in its category.

Technical Details:

  • Titanium coated blades for extra close and efficient cut – no pulling
  • Self lubricating – no need to ever oil the blades
  • LED indicator for recharging
  • Variable zoom wheel for adjustable clipping lengths
  • Nine length settings

The good

The Remington MB-200 titanium mustache and beard trimmer has many great aspects that you need to be aware of. First, the variable zoom wheel allows you to set the trimmers to whatever length you want quickly and easily. Second, the fact that you’ll never have to oil this unit is another major plus.

However, one of the most important factors of these trimmers is the quality of shaving they provide. This unit provides a very close shave, and it trims without pulling the hair. In addition to that, the length adjuster does not clip back to a lower setting when you’re applying pressure.

Various length adaptors on other trimmers tend to have the annoying tendency of snapping back to a lower setting when applying pressure, which can result in an uneven shave. You can rest assured that this will not happen with this unit.

Furthermore, it is extremely comfortable to hold, and since it is battery operated, there are no cords to manage, so you can reach any angle that you desire when cutting your beard or mustache.

The battery holds its charge for a very long time, so if you need to go away for any length of time, you won’t have to worry about constantly charging it. Plus, you can use this unit for long trips without having to carry the charger with you. This is of great convenience for anyone who travels on a regular basis.

The bad

There is very little bad to say about the Remington MB-200, aside from some very minor aspects.

One of the negatives that we’ve found about this product is that the shortest hair length setting may still be too long for those who want to get a very short beard. The way around this is to take the variable attachment off and shave directly, which can produce great results.

For hard to reach areas, some other trimmers have mini trimmers that can pop up and be really useful, but sadly this Remington doesn’t have one.

If too much pressure is applied (although the variable adjustor doesn’t clip back a setting or two), the guard, which is made of soft plastic, has a tendency to splay out a little with time. However, it still holds the selector steadfastly as long as you don’t apply excessive pressure.

Possibly the worst aspect of this trimmer is using it when the battery is low. Many trimmers allow you to plug them in and use them while they’re charging. Unfortunately, this model doesn’t allow you to do that, and you’ll have to wait until it has more charge before you can use it efficiently.

Our verdict

Overall, for the price, the Remington MB-200 Titanium Mustache and Beard Trimmer is a very good product. The in-built variable length selector that adjusts to up to nine different hair lengths is great. Plus, the self lubricating system makes this unit very low maintenance, while also providing a very good clean cut.

This unit’s battery life is excellent, but the inability to use it while plugged in may cause a bit of inconvenience.

This unit is well built, sturdy, very comfortable to hold and manoeuvrable enough to help you reach any angle that you want while trimming your beard.

All in all, the Remington MB-200 titanium mustache and beard trimmer is well worth the money, and its few minor negative aspects are dwarfed by the many great features it has to offer.
